1st Senghenydd Scout Group was formed September 2013.

Our Group was opened during the 100-year anniversary of Senghenydd Pit Disaster. Our Group Necker is Black and Purple. The Black is in memory of those who lost their lives in the pit disaster, and Purple to symbolise new beginnings.

Our group is funded solely by subscription (subs), fundraising activities and a Community Council Grant.

All of our leaders are volunteers and give their time freely. We believe in helping all our members be the best they can be, by learning new skills, working as a part of a team and on their own. Meeting new people and making new friends.
